Pominville leads the U.S. past Germany
(WGR 550)- Sabres winger Jason Pominville had a goal and an assist to propel the U.S. past Germany 6-4 at the World Championships. Drew Stafford had an assist. Western New York natives Pat Kane and Lee Stempniak combined for three assists. Sabres draft pick Philip Gogulla had an assist for the Germans.
Canada needed a late power play goal from Rick Nash to inch past upset minded Norway 2-1.
