AP: Wilson ready to revamp

(WGR 550) -- It's no longer just a rumor, Ralph Wilson is prepared to clean house at One Bills Drive, according to the Associated Press' John Wawrow.

In the report, Wilson acknowledges that he wants to revamp the team with potential big changes, but said he knew nothing of contact between the Bills and former Broncos boss Mike Shanahan.

According to the report:

"Wilson said Thursday he'll make a full review and stresses there's 'a lot of work to do.' Wilson adds there could be changes at any position and it's possible he'll bring in a general manager with a football background or make a lucrative offer to land a high-profile coach."

The interview was conducted by phone from Wilson's home in Detroit. The Bills fired head coach Dick Jauron on Tuesday, replacing him on an interim basis with defensive coordinator Perry Fewell. Buffalo duels with the Jaguars in Jacksonville on Sunday, with Ryan Fitzpatrick named starting quarterback. A Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel report on Thursday said Buffalo signed Green Bay third-string quarterback Brian Brohm.

Wilson Finally Woke Up From His Nap
And realized his team is hot garbage. I wonder what made him finally say enough is enough.
11/19/2009 11:04AM
It Must have been
It must have been Bud Adams giving the Bills the 2 finger salute last Sunday that woke up Ralph from his nap.
11/19/2009 11:15AM
Is that All
If all it takes for someone in Buffalo to make changes is to give them the finger, can someone please go over to City Hall and give the mayor the finger?
11/19/2009 11:36AM
point
just as we stress changing coaches or players i want whoever gave out the Schoebel and Kelsay contracts to be fired. That stuff is as damaging to your team as on the field stuff.

At this point the season is shot...
Why give Hamden a try? He has a better arm than Fitzpatrick and probably wants to play to make a name then collect a paycheck. Go Sabres!
11/19/2009 12:25PM
Fewell it is
and fewell it will be. I just hope he's actually worth it. I like what I see so far.
11/19/2009 12:36PM
since the season is shot...
why not put Hamden in? I'd rather see someone who wants to make a name for themselve vs. someone trying to collect a paycheck. Hamden has a good arm and now that Brohm is comin him, I say we give him a chance. Go Sabres!

what bums me out
What bums me out is that in the rest of his quote he insists that he has no problem spending money. Now THAT is delusional.
11/19/2009 1:05PM
no more hamden
Kind of hard to put in a guy who was just cut.
11/19/2009 1:07PM
Hamdan
Hamdan was released, thats why he won't get a try.
11/19/2009 1:07PM
NEW QB!
Hamden was cut today so why not start Brohm after this week see if we can maybe find a diamond in the rough he played well for Lvill
11/19/2009 1:12PM
Hamden is gone
Can't give a guy that we cut a try. Don't expect Brohm to play a down this season.
11/19/2009 1:13PM
LOL
A little late, Ralph. Should have maybe done this 10 years ago? LOL, no one cares about the Bills anymore.
11/19/2009 1:32PM
Novel idea...
"it's possible he'll bring in a general manager with a football background". That sounds like might be a good idea.
11/19/2009 2:39PM
I don't care who the QB is!
I don't care who the QB is, you still have to protect him!!
11/19/2009 3:00PM
i hope not!
he gonna hire marv levy and drew bledsoe again.

11/20/2009 1:47AM
Thank You Mr. Wilson!
Dudes! He's doing what should be done. The season is over, but I'm happy and excited for the new BILLS.
11/20/2009 5:23AM
Just the start?
Nobody, and I mean nobody knows if Brohm is the answer. The numbers say he likely isn't. But hey, you never know. Brett Favre was traded to the Pack after one season in Atlanta. General manager (talent evaluator) is the most important spot to fill right now on this team.
11/20/2009 5:28AM
Look at the record
Generally, when Ralph has spent money, it's worked out. There have been times he spent and it didn't work out (Drew Bledsoe, Tom Donahoe, Derrick Dockery and Langston Walker). You can't say he's never spent the money! How exactly did he manage to keep OJ, Kelly, Thurman and Bruce Smith on this team if he didn't.
