Bills' Whaley comments on Dareus arrest
Taking the morning to investigate the news from the previous night, the Buffalo Bills and general manager Doug Whaley put out a statement regarding defensive tackle Marcell Dareus and his arrest in Cleburne County, Alabama on Tuesday.
“We are, obviously, disappointed with this latest development involving Marcell Dareus. We will be in contact with the league regarding the situation and continue to offer support and assistance to Marcell.”
Dareus was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and was released from the jail within an hour of being taken into custody. The NFL will likely investigate the matter and decide whether or not the situation is worthy of a suspension.
The defensive tackle was the third overall selection of the 2011 NFL Draft and the Bills just recently decided to use the fifth-year option on his rookie contract. Keep checking back for more details as they become available.
