Bills will start Fitzpatrick vs. Jets

Orchard Park, NY (WGR 550)  -- Often times in the NFL, you'll see teams go in to evaluation mode at different positions during Week 17 when they've been eliminated in the playoffs. That won't be the case in Buffalo for the quarterback position when the Bills take on the New York Jets at Ralph Wilson Stadium on Sunday.

When asked Monday on whether Tyler Thigpen or Tarvaris Jackson may get a chance to show what they can do in the team's regular season finale, head coach Chan Gailey answered back with the word 'No,' repeatedly.

When asked why he wouldn't entertain the idea, he expressed faith in Ryan Fitzpatrick as his starter at least one last time.

"He gives us the best chance to win," Gailey said bluntly.

The head coach also said that there wouldn't be any backups getting the chance to start on offense or defense just because it was the last game of the regular season.

The Bills will be without both tight end Scott Chandler and safety Da'Norris Searcy in the final game of the season. Chandler was placed on Injured Reserve with a knee injury, while Searcy has a groin injury.

The Bills and Jets square off on Sunday at 1 pm.
