Britt signs with Rams after visiting Bills and others

(WGR 550) -- The Buffalo Bills have only had one free agent visit from a wide receiver since the start of the new league year and March, and he has elected to go elsewhere.

After visiting with the Bills, St. Louis Rams, New England Patriots and Washington Redskins, free agent wide receiver Kenny Britt ultimately decided to join a former head coach and sign with the Rams. According to multiple reports, the contract is only for one year.

Thought to be looking for a receiver with a bigger frame this off-season, the Bills reached out to Britt and brought him in for a meet-and-greet with the decision makers in Orchard Park. Britt is listed at 6-foot-3 and 225-pounds and is a former first-round pick of the Tennessee Titans.

After breaking out with a few big games in 2010, his second season in the league, Britt has failed to capitalize on that success and has been marred by both injuries and off-the-field concerns. He's 25 years old and in his five seasons has averaged 31.4 receptions, 490 yards and 3.8 touchdowns per season.

Britt will rejoin Jeff Fisher in St. Louis, the former Titans head coach that originally drafted him out of Rutgers in 2009.
