Buffalo Business Report - Friday, December 20th 2013

According to preliminary figures released by the New York State Department of Labor, New York State’s unemployment rate decreased from 7.7% to 7.4% in November 2013, its lowest level since January 2009. There was also good news on the local jobs front: Buffalo-Niagara Falls private sector job growth was up 1.6% from last November to the one just past.


The Niagara Wine Trail is pleased to announce the addition of their twentieth member winery, Schwenk Wine Cellars, located off of Route 18 at 1456 Bills Road in the Town of Kent.


St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral and the Richardson Olmstead Complex, both historic Buffalo structures, have received engraved awards as first-year inductees into the Sandstone Hall of Fame. The hall was created by the Medina Sandstone Society to salute buildings made of the world-famous stone discovered in Orleans County in the 1830s.
