Buffalo Business Report - Monday, January 14th 2013



Local gas prices have resisted the national rise.  The AAA reports the average cost for a gallon of gas here is still $3.74.

The Niagara Frontier Automobile Dealers Association has figured out the yearly sales figures for the local auto dealers.  Vehicle sales for 2012 were up 2.8% over the figures from 2011.  As reported in Business First, the December sales numbers were off 4.1%.

In other auto-related news, Ford Motor Company plans to hire 22-hundred salaried workers this year.  Most of those jobs are expected to be in manufacturing, product development and information technology.

The newest NOCO Express is open as of today at 4221 Walden Avenue in Lancaster.  This largest convenience store in the chain includes a Subway, Tim Hortons, travel center and commercial diesel fueling stations.

Invisible Fence recognized the owner of Invisible Fence of Buffalo Niagara at its 2012 Circle of Excellence Awards.  Only the top 10% are so honored each year.
