The AAA reports the current average cost for a gallon of unleaded gas in the region is $3.65, up four cents from a week ago.

A week from today, the Erie County Industrial Development Agency will hold a hearing on the future of the former AM&A's store downtown. Business First reports Rocco Termini is seeking an incentive package to help finance what could be a $60 million renovation project.

New York State's jobless rate was 8.9% for June. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics also noted the number of mass layoffs was up statewide in a comparison of June 2011 to June of this year. That number increased from 55 to 99; impacting 10, 248 workers last month.

Buffalo Materials Handling has closed on a new site in Depew for a reported $528,000.

The West Herr dealerships have been named to a list of the Top 100 Best Dealerships to Work For in the U.S. and Canada by Automotive News.
