Buffalo Business Report - Monday, July 9th 2012



The AAA reports the local average gas price of $3.59 for a gallon of unleaded remains unchanged from Friday's cost in the region.

Following up on a similar announcement by Verizon Wireless, AT&T has announced the availability of the 4G LTE network in the Buffalo area. AT&T has invested over $1.3 billion in its New York wireless and wireline networks in the past three years.

The Toronto Star reports Tim Hortons will roll out free wireless internet service at more than 2,000 of its restaurants. That access will be in place by September.

A YNN report states Rochester's Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is closer to securing a Buffalo location. Officials are scouting sites near Niagara Square, with plans to open in the fall of next year.

The Buffalo Niagara Association of Realtors released its May housing market report. For the month, single family home sales increased 17.2% from May of 2011. Median prices were up 3.3% for the same period.
