Buffalo Business Report - Monday, March 17th 2014



Gas prices remained flat for the region over the weekend.  The AAA reports it still costs an average of $3.76 for a gallon of unleaded gas.

Quebec-based Nova Steel is actively scouting sites in Western New York.  Business First reports the company has been most interested in West Seneca and Hamburg for a planned production and distribution center.  Nova Steel is proposing to invest as much as $50 million and create at least 50 jobs initially.

The newest downtown Buffalo restaurant/nightclub has opened for business.  The sports-themed Sidelines is at 189 Delaware Ave., site of the former King’s Court restaurant.  Sidelines will be open for lunches and well into the evening and early morning hours.

Trade publication Accounting Today notes two firms with local ties are within the top 100 U.S. accounting firms, based on projected revenue.  The Bonadio Group LLP ranks 50th on the list; Freed Maxick CPAs PC is #76.
