Astronics Corporation has purchased privately-held Max-Viz for $10 million. Business First reports Max-Viz makes Enhanced Vision Systems for aircraft.

Buffalo-based Kinex Pharmaceuticals has received a substantial investment from an Asian doctor. The amount of that investment was not made public.

The mid year report from the NEXUS Niagara team is out; it shows NEXUS-lane usage increasing to 675,000 crossings. Program participants account for 12% of overall regional border travel.

The Department of Veterans Affairs has announced a partnership with HealtheLink.

The Batavia Daily News reports Merrill Lynch has moved into new offices in Batavia.
