Buffalo Business Report - Monday, September 9th 2013



The current local average cost for a gallon of unleaded gas remained steady at $3.87 through the weekend.  However, the national average was down to $3.57, leaving a gap of thirty cents between the two figures.

Yancey's Fancy is changing its plans a bit.  According to The Batavia Daily News, the cheese maker would like to build a new plant on the southwest corner of Routes 5 and 77 and make improvements at its retail store just to the west on Rte 5.  Subject to approval, the plan totals $10.25 million.

The former Louie's Hot Dog's  may have new life.  The Buffalo Planning Board will hear a proposal tomorrow for an organic style cafe at 470 Elmwood Avenue.  Business First reports a local architect is partnering with the owners of the Acropolis restaurant on the deal.

Sometime this week, Providence Social will open at the former Rhode Island Street site of Romanello's restaurant.
