PROS
- Elite ball skills. Makes highlight reel, receiver-esque catches in tight spaces. Uses a fantastic vertical to meet the ball at it's highest point. 13 interceptions in four seasons.
- Shows incredibly strong recognition skills and instincts. Diagnoses the route and stays within arm's reach of his man. Able to sniff out double moves.
- A strong understanding of zone responsibilities. Knows his area well and reads the quarterback's eyes to anticipate where he'll throw.
- Stays stride-for-stride with speedier assignments.

CONS
- Tends to squat with an eye in the backfield and gets caught sometimes.
- Won't wow you with his speed, technique offsets this. A bit stiff in the hips at times.
- Could stand to add some bulk to his frame. A thinner player.
- Poor tackling skills in open space at this point.

Special Notes:
- Turns 23 in March.
- Son of Frank Minnifield, former Cleveland Browns Pro Bowl cornerback.

Projection: Late 1st to 2nd round
- I think Minnifield has what it takes to be one of the risers of the draft process. Each year, teams are looking for game-changing types of cornerbacks. Despite Minnifield not having the rare speed for his position, he compensates for it with his technique and vertical against the pass. A solid sleeper prospect. Can be used in both man and zone.
