PROS
- Has a nice feel when setting up in a zone look. Sits and waits to strike if the ball or ball carrier is heading his way.
- A taller cornerback than most with very long arms. Could prove to be better against taller wideouts.
- Displays good recognition on run plays and heads back for tackle support the majority of the time.
- Physicality, and pressing receivers at the line is his strong suit.

CONS
- Slow to react at times when the ball is in the air. Didn't bring in many interceptions through two seasons of starting. Struggles on comeback routes. Fails to see the WR's break in time.
- Can't flip his hips as fast or fluidly as some of the top corners available in the draft. Would struggle in man. Likely a zone corner.
- Off-field issue: Charged with marijuana possession in January, but was not prosecuted. Despite that, a question remains in this situation: Why did he put himself in the position of being a passenger in a car that was driving on the wrong side of the road and that had 20 grams of drugs hidden in the passenger side floorboard? Teams will want answers.

Special Notes:
- Turns 23 in October.
- Declared as a junior.

Projection: 1st round
- Kirkpatrick has a fairly high billing from some out there, but guys like Morris Claiborne and Janoris Jenkins are far better prospects. It's not really that close. Kirkpatrick is a solid physical corner, but is rough around the edges at this point as a corner in man-to-man. He needs a zone team that will be willing to work with him and highlight his physical prowess. He'll likely go in the first round.
