NFL Draft Report

By Joe Buscaglia

DE Tyrone Crawford, Boise State

Tyrone Crawford, #40
Boise State
6'4", 285 lbs.,
Windsor, ON, Canada
44 tackles, 13.5 TFL, 6.5 Sacks (7 in '10) 3 FF

- Looks the part of a 5-technique defensive end. Able to sustain the line of scrimmage for the most part.
- Doesn't quit on a play even if it has passed him by.
- A feel for recognizing when an OL is off-balance, and gets in to the backfield to disrupt the play.

- Doesn't have a wide array of moves for pass-rushing, doesn't use his hands effectively at times.
- Struggles versus more physically imposing offensive tackles (i.e. Cordy Glenn of Georgia).
- Has a hard time getting off a block when blockers are inside his pads.

Special Notes:
- Played two seasons at Bakersfield College before transferring.
- Named team captain his first year with Boise State.
- Put on 10-15 pounds for weigh-in at East-West Shrine Game.

Projection: 4th to 5th round
- After playing the season around the 270-pound mark, Crawford checking in at the East-West Shrine Game with that look raised his stock just a bit. His best shot at the NFL is to get to a 3-4 team in need of a 5-technique end.
