PROS
- Dominant pass rusher for the competition he faced.
- A good inside rip move that highlights strong hand combat in an effort to get to the QB
- Good-to-great reaction time on the snap of the ball in passing situations.
- Often times faces double, and sometimes even triple teams. Still able to be a highly productive player (11 sacks, 7 FF in 2011).
CONS
- Just average speed.
- Limited to being only a 4-3 defensive end, doesn't have the fluidity to rush standing up and be in coverage.
- Struggles versus the run. Usually looks to get after the quarterback and the run coverage suffers as a result.
Special Notes:
- 2011 All-American
- Turns 24 in June
Projection: 2nd to 3rd round - He's limited to a certain role which will drive his stock down a bit. He's not an elite pass-rusher by any stretch, but he's still very, very good in certain areas. A 4-3 defensive end all the way.
