Jerry Jones Comments on Jovi, Toronto Market

While there were a number of items up for discussion at the beginning of the yearly May NFL Owners meetings, it seems comments about the future of the Bills from Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones have dominated local headlines.

The Buffalo News' Tim Graham ran a story yesterday that featured a number of interesting quotes from Jones. The story specifically included Jones' thoughts on Jon Bon Jovi as a potential NFL owner, and his belief in Toronto as a potential fit for an NFL team.

Jones had some very flattering words for the New Jersey-born Jovi.

"I don't know of anyone that I have more respect for as a father or as a husband or, certainly, as a potential business partner. ....He's qualified to become an NFL owner," Jones said.

"All owners know of him. He's committed. He's very genuine."

Jones also shared his belief in "growing the NFL pie" by adding Toronto as an NFL market.

"We certainly want to create every opportunity we can to involve more fans. At the end of the day, it's my town against your town, Cowboys against whoever we're playing. To the end that we can create more rivalries and involve larger viewing audiences, populations, that's something that you have to look at when you get a chance too, and that's the debate between Buffalo and Toronto."
