Pittsburgh, PA (WGR 550) -- The Pittsburgh Penguins made noise at the Consol Energy Center Friday night when they traded center Jordan Staal to the Carolina Hurricanes.
In return, Pittsburgh received center Brandon Sutter and Carolina's first round pick (8th Overall), which ended up being Portland Winterhawks Defenseman Derrick Pouliot.
Staal was traded on the same day of his wedding, and also a day after he rejected a 10-year contract extension from Pittsburgh. He comes to Carolina to his older brother Eric, as well as his younger brother Jared, who plays in the Hurricanes' organization.
