LIVE at the NFL Combine: Day 3

INDIANAPOLIS (WGR 550)  -- Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Manti Te'o day.

That's right. For the first time since the season ended and the girlfriend hoax was exposed, Te'o will meet with what could be the biggest press conference in NFL Combine history.

With a record number of credentials handed out this year, it's sure to be quite the show.

Follow along all day for the third day of thee 2013 NFL Scouting Combine!

2:48 pm: Notre Dame LB Manti Te'o just got done addressing the media here at Lucas Oil Stadium. Early thoughts? He handled himself very well, seemed extremely humbled and sincere.

The most memorable question asked?

"Are you dating anybody in real life?"

Te'o: No, not right now.

Audio and transcript coming soon. This will be the last update for a while. A lot to take in.

1:51 pm: Some early, unofficial 40-yard dash times have come through for the tight ends. Of the top names Notre Dame's Tyler Eifert (4.60), Stanford's Zach Ertz (4.65), San Diego State's Gavin Escobar (4.82) and Rice's Vance McDonald (4.63) all ran it today. Cincinnati's Travis Kelce sat out due to injury. The top two times of the day were from Arkansas's Chris Gragg (4.44) and Maryland's Matt Furstenburg (4.50).

1:21 pm: Let's take a look at some of those receivers I promised from earlier:

12:43 pm: Twenty minutes in to Te'o watch. NFL.com's Gil Brandt tweeted that Te'o won't be speaking with the media until at least 3 pm. And the wait continues...

12:00 pm: The NFL Network announced that Notre Dame LB Manti Te'o will be speaking with the media within the next hour.

11:16 am: The offensive linemen just get bigger, faster and stronger. In the second running group, Oklahoma left tackle Lane Johnson turned some heads by clocking in with an unofficial 40-yard dash time of 4.75.

10:42 am: Arkansas QB Tyler Wilson gets some flack for how small his hands are. At 83/4" he has the smallest hands for a quarterback at the Combine. Wilson answered a question about his hand size on Friday.

"I don't know how much stock they put in to it. I know I can throw the ball as good or better than some people with bigger hands than I do. Not that that means anything I guess. At the end of the day, I guess this part of it is a modeling session where you have to be this and this. But at the end of the day, can the guy play football. That's the way I've always looked at it."

A lot of fans show real concern of the measurement of his hand length. Just realize, though, that it is not a predictor of success nor does it cripple draft stock. Ryan Tannehill, the eighth pick of the 2012 NFL Draft, had 9" hands. He did just fine in his first season in the NFL.

I side with Wilson on this. If the guy can play, the guy can play. Hand size be damned.

10:17 am: With the quarterbacks already measured in, here is a list of the notable names at the Combine. I'll post the wide receivers in a little bit, too.

Name School Height Weight Hand
Matt Barkley USC 6'21/2" 227 101/8"
Tyler Bray Tennessee 6'6" 232 91/4"
Colby Cameron Louisiana Tech 6'2" 212 9"
Zac Dysert Miami (OH) 6'3" 231 91/8"
Mike Glennon NC State 6'71/8" 225 95/8"
Landry Jones Oklahoma 6'4" 225 91/8"
Collin Klein Kansas State 6'47/8" 226 91/4"
E.J. Manuel Florida State 6'45/8" 237 103/8"
Ryan Nassib Syracuse 6'21/8" 227 101/8"
Matt Scott Arizona 6'2" 213 9"
Geno Smith West Virginia 6'23/8" 218 91/4"
Tyler Wilson Arkansas 6'21/8" 215 83/4"

9:19 am: There has already been a 'wow' performance at the Combine. Arkansas Pine-Bluff offensive tackle ran an unofficial 40-yard dash time of 4.65. That's right. While some linebackers and other positional players that depend on their speed will run slower times, here's Armstead running a sub 4.7. He's said to be a Day 2 pick, and a potential left tackle in the NFL.
