NFL Draft Report

By Joe Buscaglia

OT Elvis Fisher, Missouri

Elvis Fisher, #72
Missouri
6'4", 296 lbs., 23 years old
St. Petersburg, FL

PROS
- Long-time starting left tackle of Mizzou. Has protected the likes of Chase Daniel and Blaine Gabbert.
- Always looking for a block. Even if he doesn't have one right in front of him he goes searching in pass protection.
- A great fighter of an offensive lineman. Doesn't give up.
- Very good at times in pulling on run plays. Finds his man and buries him.

CONS
- A vast, vast injury history. Had off-season shoulder surgery leading up to 2011 season, and then tore his patellar tendon during fall camp.
- Doesn't have great size for the position.
- Often times is caught flat-footed.

Special Notes:
- Turns 24 in October.
- May not even be in the 2012 NFL Draft. Currently applying for a medical redshirt and a sixth year of eligibility.
- Son of a radio broadcaster

Projection: 5th to 6th round
- Many times with injuries they hold you back a bit. With Fisher, if he isn't granted a sixth season then he should be close to ready for pre-draft workouts. Either way, the next month or so for him is going to be huge.
