Mike Ryan, #71
Connecticut
6'5", 338 lbs., 23 years old
Tamaqua, PA
PROS
- A mammoth offensive lineman that carries a lot of weight.
- Has played both left and right tackle at UConn throughout three seasons. Left tackle his senior season.
- Surprisingly athletic in open field, runs well. Would be good at pulling.
- A solid run blocker once he makes contact.
CONS
- Just doesn't have the quickness off the snap to contain faster pass-rushers with an open edge.
- You would expect him to be stronger, but that can be attributed to being off-balance against quicker rushers.
- Likely not an offensive tackle at the next level. Probably a guard.
Special Notes:
- Turns 24 in December.
Projection: 6th to 7th round
- Ryan looks and acts the part of a guard in footage of his games, so it's likely that he'll be selected to be made in to a reserve guard to start. Has enough girth and power to develop in to a starting guard with proper teaching.
