Thanks NFL. Thanks for this hot pile of garbage news. Seriously...you ruined my day.
So, the Bills are playing on Monday Night? AWESOME.
They're going to play New England? Ok...I'm not WILD about it, but I'll deal with it.
It's at Gillette Stadium. BITE ME!!!
Seriously, THINK about what this all means.
***
Remember what it felt like when the Bills signed Terrell Owens? All of a sudden, Bills fans around the globe found that they were capable of feeling....HOPE? Remember that? Perhaps they could be relevant...and win a few more games...and give this whole thing a shot? Remember? Yeah....now I'm feeling a bit, well...down in the dumps.
I'm with you, T.O. This news hurts.
The Buffalo Bills have been selected as the roadkill that the league is putting out in front of the Patriots on Kickoff Weekend. This is New England. This is New England playing the Bills in primetime. There is no sugarcoating this. Not even the Bills PR staff can make it look good. Usually releases from the team will go out of their way to point out the positives (like saying 7-9 is the 2nd best mark in Dick Jauron's career as a head coach...YES...they did that).
Here's what THIS release has in it:
Monday Night, 10/23/95 @ NE, L 14-27
Sunday Night, 10/27/96 @ NE, L 25-28
Sunday Night, 11/14/04 @ NE, L 6-29
Sunday Night, 11/18/07 vs. NE, L 10-56
1....2.....3.....4....WE WANT FIVE!!! Seriously...trying to find a silver lining in this, is like trying to put together highlights for the 2008 Detroit Lions season in review.
UGH.
You know what ELSE this game will be right?
Hi guys. Remember me?
It will be the TOM BRADY REUNION TOUR!!! The New England band is BACK TOGETHER! Noooooooooo!
I HATE that the Bills are playing on Monday Night in New England to open the season. It brings with it a number of things you may not have thought of:
1. An 0-1 start
2. All Brady....all the time
3. Highlights of the last 2 Monday Night games for SURE. Remember Nick Folk?

4. 6 months for Bill Belichick to prepare for Terrell Owens.
5. Trent Edwards will likely be cheapshotted by Vince Wilfork...to START the season.
6. Tedy Bruschi getting SOMEWHERE into the mix.

7. A first hand reminder that Tom Brady still plays in the division.
8. A short week of preparation for week 2.
9. A 48-6 halftime score.
10. A Sunday to start the season...with NO Bills game.
Thanks, NFL.
Thanks for ruining Christmas.
