Sabres Beat Canadiens in OT 3-2

Steve Ott scored twice, including the game-winner in overtime, leading the Sabres to a 3-2 victory over the Canadiens on Tuesday. Montreal battled back from two down to force the extra frame, but Buffalo pulled out its second win in eight games.

The Sabres jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period thanks to Ott and Tyler Myers. Ott got the scoring started 7:47 in, helping force a P.K. Subban giveaway along the boards and subsequently blasting a shot off the post and past Carey Price. Tyler Ennis added to the Buffalo lead later in the period, redirecting a Tyler Myers shot into the Montreal net.

After a scoreless second period that saw the Sabres manage only two shots on Price, Max Pacioretty cut the Buffalo lead in half, one-timing a Brendan Gallagher pass by Enroth at 7:04 of the third. Montreal continued to apply heavy pressure, eventually outshooting the Sabres 15-6 in the final period, and Colby Armstrong tied it up about nine minutes later. Ott's second goal of the evening came at the very end of a power play at 2:16 of overtime. Ott shoveled home a loose puck to put away Montreal and give Buffalo the 3-2 victory.

The Sabres return home to face the Maple Leafs on Thursday before heading back to Montreal on Saturday. Hear both games on WGR 550 and the Buffalo Sabres Radio Network.

Why is STAFFORD on the TOP LINE?????????? Whats this about earning ICE TIME??? DOESN'T apply to KEVIN PORTER EITHER!!!! I was disgusted to see staff up on top line... Move up Flynn or Foligno..

I guess you have to win once in a while. Once again can't hold on to a lead (predictable, what else is new).4 on 3 you'd better score. This team was lucky they won. Now get ready to lose the next 3 or 4.Can't this team just once come out and win decisively?

Darcy is a joke, can't we move on please? Let's start planning for the future now get rid of him. Stafford is a -10, by far the worst on the team, can we please start making some moves. It is tough to even like this team.
