Parrish: "My Resume Speaks For Itself."

Orchard Park (WGR 550)  -- Roscoe Parrish is still frustrated.  The Bills wide receiver/punt returner wasn't dealt at the NFL trade deadline and doesn't understand why he didn't play against the Jets last Sunday.  If it has something to do with his fumble two weeks ago against Cleveland, he hasn't been told.

"What's been said is just the depth chart and me seeing it and not dressing.  What can possibly be said to a guy that's been leading in punt returns?  What can possibly be said is you know, I'm not doing a good job because of one game?  It's a long season."

"I made a bad decision in the Cleveland game, but everyone makes mistakes.  And the ones that are making mistakes are the ones that are trying hard."

Parrish said he's trying to keep a positive attitude and continue to work hard because the decision on whether he plays is out of his hands.  " I can only control what I can control.  If Dick Jauron feels that Fred's (Jackson) the guy to be back there -- he is the head coach, so I can't say much about that."

"It's been a frustrating offseason and frustrating during the season.  My position on this team just slowly but surely was moving down the depth chart on offense.  I went from getting a couple of snaps on offense to getting no snaps to just doing punt returns."

"I'm not going to sit up here and be negative with the whole situation toward Dick Jauron but its kind of like a situation where you look at it and be like this guy here - he led the league two years in a row and the year  before he didn't lead - he finished third but he had a good average and then this year it's 4 or 5 games into the season and I'm off the field and not dressing and that's the only frustrating part if that there's not enough explanation."

"That''s the only crazy part about it -- not to bad mouth anybody -- not to bad mouth Jauron - my resume speaks for itself.  when you see my resume and you see me not returning punts it's like, wow, what's going on?"

Even though Fred Jackson will continue to return punts, Parrish said he'll still lend his advice despite the situation.  " It's a tough situation to watch but I'm being very supportive to my teammates and to Freddy.  If I see something I'll let him know.  I'm just taking a positive approach.  That's all I can do."

Jauron updated the media on the status of quarterback Trent Edwards after practice.  "He's feeling better -- but obviously he's still not practicing."  Jauron indicated that Edwards has been to the Bills facility to meet with the team trainers and doctors.  The Bills will make a decision tomorrow regarding Edwards' status for Sunday's game at Carolina.

Tight end Shawn Nelson and running back Xavier Omon missed practice with what Jauron called a "flu-related illness."  Chris Kelsay was limited in practice for the second day in a row.  He was poked in the eye late in last Sunday's game against the Jets.

Defensive tackle Kyle Williams did not practice because of a shoulder injury.  Bryan Scott (ankle) was able to do a little more than he did yesterday while Terrence McGee (knee) returned in a limited basis today.

Offensive lineman Jonathan Scott (ankle) and safety Donte Whitner (ankle) both missed their second straight practice.

His Resume
Kinda hard to argue with what Parrish said. He is actually handling it a lot better than I thought when I saw this article posted. Seems like a waste of a roster spot if we arent gonna use him the rest of the year. Might as well have tried to trade him for ANYTHING
10/22/2009 6:55PM
Yes, resume does speak
loud and clear, U cost us two games by my count. I wish they would have traded u as well!
10/22/2009 6:58PM
Should have been cut
Parrish and Reed should have been cut or traded in training camp. Steve Johnson looked so much better than both of them late last season and in camp. The Pats wouldnt hold on to a wr that cant catch a punt or pay him that much either...see ya!
10/22/2009 6:59PM
Wow.
One bad decision? One?! I guess running backwards on every other punt return qualifies as good decisions, eh Roscoe? You're right though - your resume speaks for itself. Unfortunately it says 6.1 yards per return this year, 1 fumble lost & 1 reception. Gee, I just can't understand why you were benched...
10/22/2009 8:06PM
Hey....he is a Bill
He is a Bill so that tells you one thing.....he does not belong in the NFL and once cut from the Bills, he will be out of the league within 2-3 years. Everything the Biills touch turns to CRAP!

we need him to go back to the number 2 spot, once TO leaves
10/22/2009 10:41PM
resume?
anyone name ANYONE who returns punts for ANY other team? anyone in the league been blown up more this year than roscoe? can't blame him though, 150 pound second round choice.
10/22/2009 11:05PM
Yes, Ditto
Resume does speaks for itself. It's a shame though not too many people sees it like you did.

Professional Ball player
Professional Ball player. What are you going to do. It's all about them.

BUST
No worthy of such a high draft pick if all he can do is return licks (when he isn't fumbling) Just waive the guy and open up a roster spot for another mediocre player.

HAHA..Hey Parrish Join The Club
Parrish join the fans of not understanding the bills front office and coaching desicions. HA this is halarious. This is why Buffalo will never attract good players from around the league. Who would want to come to this Crappy Team under these Crappy coaches and their desicion making. Parrish Pack your bags man and good luck in the NFL you are better off with a better organization.

Letting her go!
It was quite apparent that Roscoe figured his way out of town was to muff it out...a seasoned veteran knows better than to try and field that punt especially at that time in the game....he was trying to open a door for himself - out of Buffalo...He should have done it the other way!
10/23/2009 8:21AM
wasted
just another guy that DOES have talent but this coaching staff has NO idea how to use him!!
10/23/2009 8:48AM
RE: resume?

10/23/2009 9:16AM
Parrish
actually the picture on the home page speaks for itself.
10/23/2009 9:47AM
Parrish eco-puke
So much for Parrish's resume. How about his DUI record and history of showing no mercy for Manatees? Manateehaving e a.
10/23/2009 11:11AM
yes it does!
Yes Roscoe i have it hear let's see..."I'm Roscoe Parish and I'm a bust"
10/23/2009 12:03PM
YES YOUR RESUME DOES SPEAK FOR ITSELF
Yup, your resume does speak for itself- YOU STINK. I wouldn't want to put down on my resume that I was a Buffalo Bill. And I wouldn't want to put down that I single handedly lose games on a consistent basis. This guy is a joke. but what else did we expect- he is a Buffalo Bill.
10/23/2009 1:39PM
Hey fans Parrish is not to blame
PARRISH has gained the most yards on kickoffs and punt returns, more than any ever to play in the NFL at the position. This has lead to probably ALL of Buffalo's wins in the last 3 years, since those games they won their offense could not do it, by him scoring on kickoffs or by him getting the team in scoring positions for fieldgoals.. Our offense Sucks and never scores.... YOu fans should be ashamed at your remarks about this talented Player. Maybe the offense should do the job more and relieve pressure off the special teams and defense for a change.
10/23/2009 4:07PM
watch
parrish will get traded and do an amazing job for the next team he goes to where they actually give him a chance to play, count on it
10/23/2009 7:25PM
Parrish is Awesome, Trent should be benched
Parrish does an amazing job at what he does, sure the last coule of games he's not been himself , but overall - this guy is explosive! Trend Edwards should be benched for turning the ball over more than Parrish's two fumbles. Trent edwards is averaging 3-4 interceptions a game and has costed Buffalo more losses from lack of productivity along with all his sacks.Parrish is the Victim. Too much Blame is on him. What B.S.
10/24/2009 10:36AM
Parrish
Everyone wants to bust on parrish the truth of the matter is hew when the ball is in there hands is more exciting than roscoe he will be greatly missed and down the tubes goes the specal teams the only thing the bills ever had We still love Roscoe as a player he made mistakes big mistakes but he is still ours
10/24/2009 10:50PM
You don't know who you're messing with
He's Roscoe Parrish, and he's worth millions.
