Report: Ex-Eagles President May Be Interested in Buying Bills
A report out of Philadelphia says the former president of the Philadelphia Eagles is looking to form a group to buy an NFL team. One of the teams mentioned was the Buffalo Bills.
Howard Eskin of WIP in Philadelphia reports Joe Banner is looking to buy an NFL team, and in addition to be the Bills, may be looking to buy the Cleveland Browns or the St. Louis Rams.
"I was told that Buffalo, Cleveland and St. Louis might be fore sale," Eskin told WGR. "I was told by someone else that he could have an interest in Buffalo. It's in the early stages, just look at it that way, it's in the early, early stages."
"Obviously, Bills fans, any time speculation like this comes along, wonder, but I don't know how much stock to put in Joe Banner putting an ownership team together to buy the Bills because from all we know, the Bills are not for sale and that hasn't changed," says AP writer John Wawrow.
Wawrow adds, "The Bills were mentioned by reporters, but Banner has only said he's not even sure which teams are for sale and he didn't say which teams he'd be after, only teams that are for sale."
