Report: Testimony will wait

nick@wgr550.com

(WGR 550) - Friday could have been a benchmark day in the alleged hit-and-run accident involving a vehicle registered to Marshawn Lynch, as three Bills players were scheduled to appear in front of a grand jury. That date has been delayed, according to The Buffalo News.

Prosecutors have agreed to post-pone the testimony for the players who live out-of-town because the Bills don't have any practices scheduled until July.

"We're trying to avoid anybody having to testify before a grand jury," said Frank Clark, Erie County District Attorney. "If we get the information we need, through other sources or from the people who were scheduled to testify, we'll just cancel the grand jury appearance."

The News is reporting other details on the night of the incident, including that the players got their hair styled at the Orchard Park apartment of James Hardy earlier in the evening by a friend of safety Donte Whitner. Police sources say Lynch and one other player went to an exotic dance club in Cheektowaga before moving on to Chippewa, where a 25-year old Buffalo woman said Lynch was drinking only water, and behaving like a gentleman.
