(WGR 550) -- It didn't take long for former Buffalo Bills starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to land on his feet.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, Fitzpatrick has agreed to terms on a two-year contract with the Tennessee Titans to become Jake Locker's backup quarterback. The deal is pending Fitzpatrick passing a physical, the report says.
The Bills released Fitzpatrick on March 12, one day before he was set to make a $3 million roster bonus for being on the team for one full day of the new league year. In cutting Fitzpatrick, the Bills saved themselves $7 million on this year's cap by designating it as a post-June 1 waiver, which delays the bulk of the cap hit.
He's the third member of the 2012 Buffalo roster to hook on with Tennessee this off-season. Safety George Wilson and left guard Andy Levitre each signed with the Titans as unrestricted free agents in 2013.
Fitzpatrick started a total of 53 games for the Bills over his four-year career in Buffalo. He's 30 years old.

Believe me that it looks like he will not be the backup. Jake Locker is not the leader Titans think and is still dealing with a re-injured shoulder.

Why only one move by the BIlls?
Seems the Bills are content to sit on their hands and watch the the world go by. Most teams are making moves and all we are doing is clearing out salary cap space. Was Donald Jones that bad that we just cut him??? Let him compete in camp and see what happens. NE will make good use of him. That you can guarantee. I am beginning to have bad thoughts about this new staff already. Hope he doesn't plan on loading us up on SU players. On paper, we are worst than last year. Looks like he is already planning on the 2014draft for a QB.

The Bills in Free Agency are a joke!!
Wow the Bills biggest news in free agency this week thus far is who our cut QB went to? Did we spend too much on Mario last year and not get the return we hoped for that we aren't signing anyone of real value? We have six picks this year in the draft and more holes on the roster at key spots than the talent in the draft can fix. 13 years without making the playoffs better loosen up the purse strings. The guys Miamai signed alone in FA could beat the Bills.

As a lifelong Bills fan, I'll just say congrats for signing Fitzpatrick. He took the blame for a front office which is totally inept. If you could put all the Bills players who are now on other teams, and doing well, you would have an all pro team.

Good fit
Sure am glad the Bills FINALLY cut him loose and he will do better on the bench than playing. I can't see him ever being a starter again. The Bills would have no change at all if he stayed. I still think the Bills are pretty hopeless although if they keep the same dead wood around, there are no possibilities for anything positive in the future.

I understand what you are saying about Fitzy's limitations. That said, you need to have options before you burn your bridges. This is more about Buddy Nix than anything else. The man is no GM, and this nightmare will continue as long as Nix is here.
