(WGR 550) -- It didn't take long for former Buffalo Bills starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to land on his feet.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, Fitzpatrick has agreed to terms on a two-year contract with the Tennessee Titans to become Jake Locker's backup quarterback. The deal is pending Fitzpatrick passing a physical, the report says.
The Bills released Fitzpatrick on March 12, one day before he was set to make a $3 million roster bonus for being on the team for one full day of the new league year. In cutting Fitzpatrick, the Bills saved themselves $7 million on this year's cap by designating it as a post-June 1 waiver, which delays the bulk of the cap hit.
He's the third member of the 2012 Buffalo roster to hook on with Tennessee this off-season. Safety George Wilson and left guard Andy Levitre each signed with the Titans as unrestricted free agents in 2013.
Fitzpatrick started a total of 53 games for the Bills over his four-year career in Buffalo. He's 30 years old.

Good luck. You and GW make that a class team.
ALSO ANDY L.
Tenn. is up grading.
ITS EMBARRASSING THAT HE WAS THE STARTER HERE LET ALONE GETTING PAID LIKE HE DID. HES NOW BACK TO WHERE HE BELONGS--THE BENCH
hes not a BILL anymore, why thee report?
...is this to try and make us jealous?
why report about a guy not on the team?
I hope you write up reports about every offseason signing.
who cares about fitzpatrick now? not on the team, so who cares!!!
Now the Bills ought to sign Hasselbeck. Tit for tat.
Sooner or later Fitz will the starting QB
Believe me that it looks like he will not be the backup. Jake Locker is not the leader Titans think and is still dealing with a re-injured shoulder.
Since your state is picking up all of our trash, would you please ask the Predators to take Darcy Regier? Thanks.
Why only one move by the BIlls?
Seems the Bills are content to sit on their hands and watch the the world go by. Most teams are making moves and all we are doing is clearing out salary cap space. Was Donald Jones that bad that we just cut him??? Let him compete in camp and see what happens. NE will make good use of him. That you can guarantee. I am beginning to have bad thoughts about this new staff already. Hope he doesn't plan on loading us up on SU players. On paper, we are worst than last year. Looks like he is already planning on the 2014draft for a QB.
Buffalo fan in Tennessee
I get to see the Titans and the Bills at the same time...LOL
And to Hey Tennessee...the Preds tried that with JP Dumont already...didn't work...no thanks!! LOL
Fitz was a good guy
we just needed something different here. Best of luck to him.
They have more class than to sign Darcy
Fritz...vowed not to be a backup here..he thought he should be a starting QB....so he signs with another team as what?......LOL a backup
The Bills in Free Agency are a joke!!
Wow the Bills biggest news in free agency this week thus far is who our cut QB went to? Did we spend too much on Mario last year and not get the return we hoped for that we aren't signing anyone of real value? We have six picks this year in the draft and more holes on the roster at key spots than the talent in the draft can fix. 13 years without making the playoffs better loosen up the purse strings. The guys Miamai signed alone in FA could beat the Bills.
GRRRREAT !! HOPEFULLY WE PLAY TENESSEE SOON...
We'll be sure to get LOTS of interceptions!!!
Foreverfore EXTENDIUM REGERIUM!!!
Meanwhile back at One Bills Drive.....
Buffalo has no starting QB, and Buddy Nix sits next to his moonshine still while he scouts the SEC and ACC to draft his next set of flunkies. Best of luck, Fitz. You got away from this mess.
As a lifelong Bills fan, I'll just say congrats for signing Fitzpatrick. He took the blame for a front office which is totally inept. If you could put all the Bills players who are now on other teams, and doing well, you would have an all pro team.
Sure am glad the Bills FINALLY cut him loose and he will do better on the bench than playing. I can't see him ever being a starter again. The Bills would have no change at all if he stayed. I still think the Bills are pretty hopeless although if they keep the same dead wood around, there are no possibilities for anything positive in the future.
RE: FITZ, lifelong Bills fan...
You must be 10 years old or on drugs.
RE: FITZ lifelong Bills Fan...
Who's fault is his rubber arm, genious? STOP THE DRUG USE!
re:Meanwhile back at One Bills Drive.....
Buffalo had no starting qb WITH "rubber arm" here either. STOP THE DRUG USE!
enough is enough of him and the worst part is this is a bad team before injurys and yet another top 10 pick is on the horizon for next year!
re:Meanwhile and drug use
You are the one that is on drugs, pal. A rubber arm is better than no arm. Who would you get as QB, big man?
Meanwhile and drug use....
I understand what you are saying about Fitzy's limitations. That said, you need to have options before you burn your bridges. This is more about Buddy Nix than anything else. The man is no GM, and this nightmare will continue as long as Nix is here.
