(WGR 550) -- The Buffalo Sabres have inked defenseman Andrej Sekera to a two-year deal, and left wing Clarke MacArthur to a one-year deal. Sekera's deal is good for a total of $2 million, $750,000 the first season and $1.25 million the second season. MacArthur's contract is worth $1.4 million.
Sekera, 23, has 27 points in 108 career games, but the 2004 third-round pick had his most productive season in 2008-09. The blueliner scored three times and added 16 assists while posting a minus-11 for the blue and gold. The minus-11 was a team-worst.
MacArthur, 24, has been inconsistent, but posted 17 goals in 71 games last season. The left wing from Lloydminster, Alberta, was a minus-4 and added 14 assists. For his career, MacArthur has notched 53 points in 127 games, and saw his first regular power play stint last year, tallying five goals and five helpers.
