Sabres turn to Enroth

Newark, NJ (WGR 550)  -- Jhonas Enroth breaks Ryan Miller’s string of 15 straight starts as he gets the call in goal tonight in New Jersey.

Enroth has lost 12 straight starts dating back to a year ago November, This season he’s 0-2-0 with a 4.73 goals against. Ron Rolston said, “We’ve been playing things off of Ryan and how he was doing and felt this was a good opportunity to get him in there.”

Rolston has liked the way Enroth has practiced which is why he earned this chance, “He’s done a good job since I’ve been here working with Jim Corsi. Really for him right now his practices are his games and in those situations he’s certainly done a good job for us and merits an opportunity.”

John Scott skated on the fourth line and Jochen Hecht did the extra skating with James Patrick. When John Vogl attempted to speak with him, he told him to go talk to the guys that are playing.

The Devils have lost six straight with their only point against the Sabres. Despite that they’re still ranked 7th in the East with 25 points while Buffalo is 13th at 20. That streak dates back to the night Martin Brodeur got hurt.

Join The Bulldog for pregame at 6:00 when he’s joined by Rolston, Tyler Ennis and Mike Weber.
