Florida Wins Draft Lottery; Sabres Will Pick 2nd Overall


The Buffalo Sabres had a 25% chance to have the 1st overall pick.  All the other team combine had a 75% chance to win the top pick.  The Sabres couldn't overcome the odds against them, as the Florida Panthers have won the 2014 NHL Draft Lottery.

Simon: Sabres fans, the worst is over

Sabres Ehrhoff has a rough afternoon


The Sabres were cruising along playing the Bruins even for the first 16 minutes, but it only took 1:29 for Boston to take a 2-0 lead.

It started with Christian Ehrhoff just gliding over to a wide open Gregory Campbell who tipped a Jordan Caron pass through Matt Hackett’s pads.

As promised the Sabres sent Andrey Makarov back to Rochester so he could help the Amerks play three games in three nights. Buffalo gets Connor Knapp to back up Matt Hackett this weekend.

 

Sabres Nolan likely to let his staff go at seasons end


Multiple people inside the Sabres organization have told me that Ted Nolan will let go his entire staff when the season is over.

The only coach I’m unclear on is Joe Sacco although many are telling me he’s gone too. As a matter of fact, some on the staff are already telling people they know they’re gone.

The Sabres had a very good first period in Madison Square Garden. Despite having to kill off two penalties, the Sabres had a 12-9 shots advantage and some very good scoring opportunities.

 

Late Goal Lifts Rangers to 2-1 Win Over Sabres


Rick Nash found the net with less than two minutes remaining in regulation on Thursday, giving the Rangers a 2-1 win and handing the Sabres their fifth straight loss. Drew Stafford scored the only goal for Buffalo in the loss. Head inside for more.
