At the All Star Game #2 The home-run derby last night wasn’t going as exciting as I thought it would be until Josh Hamilton stepped into the batter’s box. Wow. What a showman. He said he had dreamed about hitting home runs in Yankee Stadium and he did just that. 28 in round one!
I admit it, Hamilton's display was pretty cool I'm 36 going on 76 when it comes to made-for-TV "sports" events like Home Run Derby. My general attitude is, Let me know when real sports comes back. But I was watching tonight and saw Josh Hamilton whack home runs at Yankee Stadium like he was banging balls at a driving range. He seemed to be hitting against his grandfather, but 28 homers on 38 swings is pretty good.
