We have reached my favorite part of the Bachelor season. Jake the pilot narrowed down his decision to 4 girls and got to go to their home towns to meet the families. I thoroughly enjoy these episodes because the girls stop saying things like, "I think we have a connection" and start saying things like, "I'm falling for him".
Now that the NFL season is officially over, it's time to transition in to a season where optimism rules no matter what team you follow. Yes, the off-season is upon us.
Over the next three months I'll be heading up the draft coverage here at WGR Sports Radio 550, which will include big boards, positional rankings, mail bags, mock drafts, player profiles, and much much more. The first stop? Taking a look at the top five prospects in the country.
So...you say that the Buffalo Bills seem like they’re miles away from a championship. The talent on the team isn’t good enough to field a Superbowl-caliber team, and the coaching staff is less than spectacular at this point. Right? Right.
So?
Can the Bills make Superbowl XLV? Probably not. But I challenge you to come up with a better plan than mine. THIS is how the Bills, if it’s in any way possible, get to Dallas in 2011.
Did you guys see the Super Bowl? I missed a lot of the game so I could take notes and give you this commercial recap because my boss respects me about as much as any of my ex-girlfriends do.
Before I recap the highlarity that resulted from millions of dollars of marketing research and CG technology, let us first take a look at where things went wrong.
Nick Mendola was asked to react to Gregg Williams winning a Super Bowl, and took it in an entirely different direction. How do some players the Bills undervalued work for other teams, and what can an almost brand new front office do to not let good players leave town?
After two substandard Sabres losses and a stirring Sunday third period between the Capitals and Penguins, Nick Mendola thinks Buffalo needs to make a big move to get right for April and/or May.
The majority of football fans believe Peyton Manning will beat the Saints to win his second championship. However, Andrew Fillipponi has taken the time to give you his advice about what to do if someone tries to sucker you into a pool or a wager.
About a week ago, while surfing the Internet for some good NHL trade rumors, i came across a game story which pointed out someone had recorded a Gordie Howe hat trick. As you know that means a player scored a goal, recorded an assist and got into a fight, all in the same game. It got me wondering about the history behind that term so I did a little research.
You've heard Howard Simon's pregame feature before every Sabres' game and now we'll make sure to post them on-line as well. Here's his thoughts on a trade that paved the way for the Sabres' success.
When the Sabres reached the conclusion they had to get rid of Alexander Mogilny, the question was what they could get back for the talented but enigmatic winger.
(WGR 550) -- My first thought when I heard that Atlanta had shipped Ilya Kovalchuk to New Jersey for Niclas Bergfors, Johnny Oduya, Patrice Cormier and a first-round pick was that the Thrashers had either gotten just enough for their star, or perhaps a little too much.
Score one for Lou Lamoriello and the New Jersey Devils with the acquisition of Ilya Kovalchuk on Thursday night. My first thought: O boy, the 2010 Stanley Cup run just got tougher for the Sabres. New Jersey traded John Oduya, Niclas Bergfors, prospect Patrice Cormier and a 2010 1st round pick for the 26-year-old left winger and Anssi Salmela.
Well it certainly took longer than most franchises to complete their brand new coaching staff, but on Thursday the Buffalo Bills added the final big piece to the puzzle. George Edwards was named defensive coordinator.
So who exactly is this George Edwards person? Hang on to your hats.
Unfortunately, 82 isn't divisible by three, so 55 games is as close to two-thirds of the way through the Sabres season as you can get (besides 54). Even after back-to-back losses to Pittsburgh and Ottawa, should we be having a positive discussion about this team?
Yes, but not without it's share of negatives. Nick Mendola gives the Sabres grades on games 28-55, and looks ahead to what's next on the plate for the blue-and-gold.
When will women who want to be on a Reality Dating show learn? Never tell the Bachelor that you're saving yourself for marriage.
The only reasons a guy would subject himself to the process of leaving his life on hold for 6 months to listen to a dozen women complain about each other is so he can eventually have sex with a few of them in the fantasy suite.
