Pure joy and elation set in to Buffalo Bills fans following Ryan Fitzpatrick's last minute touchdown to David Nelson to win the home opener at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
As it turns out, Fitzpatrick was so excited that he let out a yell that apparently made him put his head in his hat when he first saw it. It's being called the #FitzScream around Twitter. You may have heard it from Jeremy White and Howard Simon on Thursday morning's show.
But the fun part is that not a lot of his teammates heard the scream at the end of the game just yet. The even better part is having all of their reactions recorded.
I have them all.
So if you have yet to hear the Fitzpatrick Scream heard 'round Western New York, you're in for a treat.
I played it back for Fitzpatrick on Thursday before practice. Here was his priceless reaction:
If you heard near the end, wide receiver David Nelson -- the recipient of the game-winning score-- came in and said "Can I hear that one more time?" I obliged.
Next up? The top two tight ends, Scott Chandler and David Martin:
Arthur Moats is known to have a very jovial personality. I figured he'd like to hear it.
And finally, one of his offensive lineman: Andy Levitre.
As I said on Twitter, maybe this could be a marketing opportunity for the Bills? Perhaps an ice cream called "FitzScream?" A few of you tweeted me the slogan: "I scream, you scream, we all scream for #FitzScream." Perfect.
It's all in good fun. I'm sure the Bills and Bills fans wouldn't mind hearing the 'Fitz Scream' some more before the season is over.
