Troup to IR, Bills Promote DE Dotson
When news came out Monday that Buffalo Bills nose tackle Torell Troup and his recurring back injury had flared back up, head coach Chan Gailey said placing him on the Injured Reserve was a distinct possibility.
The IR came calling for the former second-round pick in 2010, his season is officially over. Troup played in only six games in 2011, and struggled with injuries when training camp started in August. He had eight tackles this season before his season ended due to injury.
With a spot on the active roster opening up, the Bills have promoted defensive end Lionel Dotson off their practice squad and on to the 53-man squad. The Bills claimed Dotson, a four-year veteran, off waivers from Miami in late July. The 6-foot-4, 290 pound defensive end was a seventh-round pick in 2008.
With the promotion of Dotson, the Bills have added Robert Eddins to their practice squad. After one week, Eddins was put on Injured Reserve early in the season, and came to an injury settlement with the team to release him from the season-ending status.
The Bills are up against the Tennessee Titans this weekend at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
