Two Defenders Visit Bills
The Buffalo Bills announced that two more defensive prospects in the NFL Draft visited the team on Thursday.
Iowa defensive end Christian Ballard and North Carolina linebacker Bruce Carter both spent time with team officials on Thursday.
Ballard played defensive tackle in college with the Hawkeyes, but will likely transition to a three-technique defensive end in the 3-4 due to his size (6-foot-3, 285 pounds). He's thought of as a fringe first round pick, so he could be there at 34th overall when the Bills pick early in the second round.
Carter is the third Tar Heels defensive player to visit the Bills in the past week. Carter has an interesting background, playing both quarterback and safety in high school, before making the switch to outside linebacker. For what the Bills do, he'd likely be an inside linebacker in the 3-4. He and Quan Sturdivant, his teammate whom the Bills had in for a visit earlier in the week, could be available in the third round.
