Vince Young on Retirement: "It's definitely official I think in my book,"

AUSTIN, TX (WGR 550)  -- Although it isn’t official, it appears Vince Young is calling it quits from the NFL.

In an interview with KXAN-TV in Austin, Texas, Young revealed his intentions to retire from the NFL, just one month after the Browns released him after a 12-day stint.

"It's definitely official I think in my book," Young said Saturday. "Unless we get a great opportunity, something guaranteed ... other than that I've started moving forward in some things."

The former 2006 third overall pick of the Tennessee Titans found success early on in his career capturing Offensive Rookie of the Year Honors and also made two Pro Bowl rosters. He led the Titans to a playoff berth once in 2007. In 2011, Young was released from Titans after clashing with Head Coach Jeff Fisher.  Young then caught on with the Philadelphia Eagles as a backup.

He was with the Bills in 2012, but was released before the end of Training Camp.  He latched on with the Green Bay Packers the following season, but also failed to make the team before the start of the season.

Young said he plans to go work for the University of Texas in some capacity, the school he led to a BCS National Championship in 2005 while setting numerous university and BCS records.
