NFL Draft Report

By Joe Buscaglia

WR Jarius Wright, Arkansas

Jarius Wright, #4
Arkansas
5'9", 176 lbs., 22 years old
Warren, AR
2011: 66 catches, 1117 yards, 12 TD
2010: 42 catches, 788 yards, 5 TD
2009: 41 catches, 681 yards, 5 TD
2008: 19 catches, 348 yards, 2 TD

PROS
- Despite his size, works the middle of the field and takes big hits. Pops right back up after them. Toughness.
- Great speed, interested to see how he times out in Indianapolis.
- Ability to find soft spots against zone coverage and bring in the reception.
- Good sideline awareness. Gets both feet in -- even though he doesn't have to in college -- to secure the catch.

CONS
- Size is way below average. Will his body hold up in the NFL?
- Likely limited to being a slot receiver at the next level.
- Shows flashes in route running, but can work on being more deceptive in the breakdown.

Special Notes:
- Turns 23 in November.
- Was said to dominate the week at practice at the East-West Shrine Game by reporters in attendance.
- 2011 team captain.

Projection: 2nd to 3rd round
- Wright's size is obviously a limitation, but with all the positives to work from some team will be ready and willing to use a Day Two pick on him.
