Bills release preseason schedule

The Bills will not play the Lions for the first time since 2001

April 11, 2018 - 5:14 pm

The Buffalo Bills have unveiled their 2018 preseason schedule, and for the first time since 2001, they won't be facing the Detroit Lions in any of their exhibition games.

The team will open the preseason slate at home against the Carolina Panthers. Then, in Week 2, they'll head to Cleveland to face the Browns and former starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor.

The Bills host the Bengals in the third week in, what will be, a nationally televised game on FOX. That could give Bills fans a chance to thank Andy Dalton in person for his heroics in Week 17 of last season when his late touchdown pass to Tyler Boyd sent the Bills to the playoffs for the first time in 18 years.

Sean McDermott's club will round out the preseason schedule with a trip to Chicago to face the Bears.

The regular season schedule is expected to be released prior to the NFL Draft, which begins on April 26th.
