We still don’t know who will be the starting quarterback for the Buffalo Bills Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.

Tyrod Taylor, who suffered a patellar tendon contusion in last Sunday’s game, did not practice Wednesday.

If Taylor can’t go Sunday, rookie Nathan Peterman will get his second career start. Joe Webb will take second team reps in practice while the team continues to evaluate Taylor’s status throughout the week.

McDermott said there’s no timetable to determine if Taylor can play Sunday or not and and that the team will “take it one day at a time.”

Along with Taylor, guard John Miller, defensive end Eddie Yarbrough, and running back Travaris Cadet didn’t practice Wednesday. Tight end Charles Clay, offensive tackle Cordy Glenn, cornerback Tre’Davious White, fullback Mike Tolbert, wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin, and cornerback Leonard Johnson were all limited.

Although able to practice in a limited capacity, White is still in the league’s concussion protocol following the late hit he took from Patriots’ tight end Rob Gronkowski Sunday. Gronkowski was suspended by the league for one game Monday. He appealed the ruling, but it was upheld a day later. He’ll miss New England’s next game, Monday night against the Miami Dolphins. McDermott agreed it’s “encouraging” that White is at least able to practice on a limited basis while still in protocol.

Glenn has missed the team’s last four games with a foot/ankle injury and hasn’t practiced at all during that time.

Benjamin has been out the last two games after suffering a torn meniscus week 11 against the Los Angeles Chargers. On Monday, McDermott said it was “looking good” for his chances to practice and eventually play this week.

Linebacker Lorenzo Alexander and defensive tackle Kyle Williams were seen working on the exercise bike and in the weight room during the media availability portion of practice. Neither of them were listed as injured in any capacity.
