Buffalo, NY (WGR 550) - The Sabres have announced that Jack Eichel has a high-ankle sprain and is out indefinitely. Eichel had the same injury to the opposite ankle to start last season and missed the first 21 games of the year. He didn't play his first game until Nov. 29, so that was the better part of two months.

If this injury takes the same amount of time to heal, Eichel will not be back this season.

Nick Baptiste has been called up from Rochester. The only extra for Saturday in Boston was Zemgus Girgensons and he couldn't play due to illness.
