After the trade of both Sammy Watkins and Ronald Darby on Friday, Buffalo Bills' general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott met with the media to discuss both trades and how they came about. Here are some of the best quotes from McDermott's press conference, who spoke following Beane's press conference:

On the timing of the trade:

"The timing is never what you want it to be, but if we wanted to do this it had to be done sooner rather than later."

Regarding the team's prospects this year post-trade:

"Getting the players we were able to get back is important."

McDermott on his night following the pre-season opener and the trade offer:

"Not a lot of sleep last night, difficult decision, one that we spent a lot of time discussing."

On what he said to Tyrod Taylor:

"My stance with our football team and the leaders of our football team is to be honest and upfront with these guys."

When asked if he supported the trade when he first heard it:

"I'm always going to listen, Brandon's staff they go out and they find players, it's our job to develop those players."
