Source: Bills and WR Johnson $2 Million Apart

Once the Buffalo Bills worked out the extension for Kyle Williams before the season started, the team then turned it's attention towards getting a deal done with top wide receiver Stevie Johnson.

WGR Sports Radio 550 has learned through a league source that after exchanging contract proposals from one side to the other, the Bills and Johnson are $2 million per year apart in talks at this point in time.

Johnson entered the season in the final year of his rookie contract. The former seventh-round pick from Kentucky has far outperformed the expectations of a late-round pick, racking up 82 catches for 1,073 yards and 10 touchdowns in his first year of starting with the team. Two games in to the 2011 campaign, Johnson has 12 catches for 162 yards and 2 touchdowns.

The exact number being offered to Johnson by the Bills isn't known to this point, but the source said the difference between the organization's offer and the counterproposal made to Buffalo is $2 million per season.
