John Kryk of the Toronto Sun is reporting the NFL's International Committee has approved the Buffalo Bills' intention to play in Toronto for the next five years.

Bills CEO Russ Brandon confirmed the league's approval in this statement:

 “The International Committee’s decision to approve the continuation of our games in Toronto is a crucial step in our ongoing efforts to regionalize our franchise. As we have stated on many occasions, the regionalization process remains vital to keeping our franchise strong in Western New York. We are continuing our discussions with Rogers Communications on a new deal and remain optimistic that we can come to an agreement in the near future.”

Kryk reports that the Bills will play one regular season game per year through 2017. While a final deal has not yet been approved, the Bills and Rogers Media are "very close" to completing the deal.

The report states that the new contract will "less lucrative" and that a deal will be announced within the next several weeks.
