The New Jersey Devils have now won to games in a row to stay alive in their Stanley Cup Finals series against the Los Angeles Kings.  The Devils took Game Five in New Jersey by a final score of 2-1on Saturday.

Both teams brought a fast and furious pace to the opening frame of Game Five.  Though there were plenty of chances in the first period, the scoreboard was clean until the 12:45 mark.  Devils captain Zach Parise tallied his first goal of the season to give New Jersey the 1-0 lead.  Kings goalie Jonathan Quick mishandled the puck behind his net and Parise managed to sneak the puck in with some quick hands.

LA got on the board early in the second period thanks to a nice wrister from Justin Williams.  Williams' fourth of the playoffs came at the 3:26 mark with the assist going to Matt Greene.  The Devils worked back quickly to regain their lead.  At 9:05 defenseman Bryce Salvador fired a seeing eye shot from the left point that found its way past Quick to make the score 2-1 for New Jersey. 

Goalie Martin Brodeur and the New Jersey defense weathered the Kings' storm late in the third period to hold on to the 2-1 win and send the series back to Los Angeles.  The two teams will meet up for Game Six Monday night at eight o'clock.
