Pittsburgh, PA (WGR 550)  -- The Buffalo Sabres selected a fourth centerman out of five draft picks by taking Logan Nelson with the 133^rd overall pick in the 2012 NHL Draft.  The team’s fifth round selection spent last season with the Victoria Royals of the Western Hockey League.
 
The Rogers, MN product is the second American born player taken by the team on the second day of the draft.  In 71 games with the Royals, Nelson racked up 62 points (23G, 39A) from the center position.  He also added 4A in as many games in the WHL playoffs.  Nelson also played in Des Moines in the 2011-12 season, where he skated in 41 games.
 
Prior to Nelson being selected Buffalo took centers Mikhail Grigorenko (12^th overall, 1^st round), Zemgus Girgensons (14^th overall, 1^st round) and Justin Kea (73^rd overall, 3^rd Round).  The team also holds the 163^rd overall pick in the 6^th Round, and 193^rd overall and 204^th overall in the 7^th Round.
