Long-time Sabres goaltender Martin Biron has re-signed with the New York Rangers to be Henrik Lundqvist's backup for the next two seasons. 

Biron and the Rangers had been working on a deal to bring back the Rangers' backup of the past two years since the Rangers were knocked out of the playoffs by the New Jersey Devils in the Eastern Conference Finals this past spring. 

Last season, Biron appeared in 21 games.  In 20 starts, he posted a 12-6-2 record, with a 2.46 goals against average and a .904 save percentage. 

Biron's deal is worth $2.6 million, averaging a $1.3 million cap hit.
