The Carolina Hurricanes gave up a lot to secure the services of Jordan Staal.  Now, they're committing to him for the long haul. 

TSN's Bob McKenzie is reporting Jordan Staal and the Hurricanes have agreed to terms on a 10-year, $60 million deal today for an average annual value of $6 million per season.

Staal spent the past six seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins.  He had a career year last season, scoring 25 goals and a career best 50 points.

Jordan joins his brother, Eric, as a result of a trade that sent him to Carolina for their 8th overall pick, center Brandon Sutter, and prospect Brian Dumoulin.  The Penguins picked defensman Derrick Pouliot with the pick.
