Foligno has a new home in the NHL.

Senators Trade Nick Foligno to Blue Jackets for Marc Methot

The Columbus Blue Jackets have traded defensman Marc Methot for forward Nick Foligno of the Ottawa Senators.

While the Blue Jackets are still trying to find a deal to send star forward Rick Nash to another team, they're trying to fix other issues with their team by adding more scoring to their offense.  While Foligno doesn't replace the scoring Nash can provide, the Blue Jackets seem to be preparing for his exit.

Methot heads to an Ottawa Senators team that has lost both defensmen Matt Carkner (Islanders) and Filip Kuba (Panthers) to free agency.

Foligno is the son of former Sabre Mike Foligno, and is the brother of current Sabres forward Marcus Foligno.  Nick scored 15 goals and 47 points last season.  He's a tough, gritty forward who had 124 penalty minutes.  Methot played just 46 games last season, scoring 1 goal and 7 points.  He was a -11.
