Buffalo Business Report - Thursday, July 19th 2012



According to Smith Travel Research, hotel occupancy in Buffalo and Niagara Falls was ahead of the national average for May. The Buffalo rate was 71.4%, with Niagara Falls at 71.8%. The national average for the month was 63.5%.

The 108-room Country Inn & Suites has opened in West Seneca. Business First reports the hotel is the fifth from Ellicott Development Company in the area, with two more in development.

UB's Center for the Arts has a partnership agreement with Tickets-dot-com.

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center plans to build a Caesarean section delivery suite at an estimated cost of $367,000. If the project gains approval, it could be up and running in early 2013.

Roswell Park Cancer Institute's Department of Supportive & Palliative Care has received two year Advanced Certification in Palliative Care from the Joint Commission.
