NCAA Hands Penn State Massive Penalties

After months of following the Jerry Sandusky cover-up situation closely, the NCAA has finally sanctioned Penn State.

On Monday morning, NCAA president Mark Emmert announced the penalties that will have a severe effect on the Nittany Lions football program.

The penalties are as follows:
  • Four-year postseason ban
  • $60 million fine
  • Lose 10 scholarships first year, then lose 20 scholarships the next four years
  • Vacate all wins from 1998-2011 (Paterno no longer has most wins of any D-1 Football coach)
  • Five years probation
  • Penn State players can transfer immediately without being penalized

The sanctions given out by the NCAA might not be the end of the sanctions given out to Penn State though. The Big Ten Conference will announce their actions regarding Penn State later on Monday
