McIlroy Wins PGA Championship

Kiawah Island, South Carolina (WGR 550)  -- It was a historic night for Rory McIlroy, as the Northern Ireland native broke Jack Nicklaus’ record by winning the PGA Championship by an eight-shot margin.

McIlroy had a commanding lead most of the day and it was seven strokes when he approached the 18th tee, but he hit a long birdie putt to end it all and finish 13-under.

David Lynn finished in second with a score of 5-under, followed by a four way tie between Justin Rose, Keegan Bradley, Ian Poulter, and Carl Peterson for third place.

Tiger Woods placed 11th with a score of 2-under.

McIlroy’s victory moves him atop of the world rankings.
